Committees

These are the committees defined within Fond du Lac Yacht Club. Click the view members link or the committee name to see a list of committee members. The Board of Directors are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club. Each officer or director is assigned a job to do at the Club to make sure that all of the jobs are met and completed.
Building Committee
The Building Committee shall consist of not less than five (5) members who shall elect a chairperson from their membership. Said committee shall be responsible for all repairs related to the building and grounds of the club. Any action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.

Communication Committee
The Communications Committee shall consist of not less than three (3) members who shall elect a chairperson from their membership. Said committee shall assume responsibility for communications involving the official Club publication, electronic mailing addresses, an internet presence, and maintenance of any transmitter or means of communication that the Yacht Club may have for marine purposes. Any action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.
Dock Committee
The Dock Committee shall consist of not less than five (5) Voting Members selected by the chairperson. The Board of Directors will appoint a chairperson that is a member of the Board of Directors. The chairperson must select a minimum number of Voting Members, as specified in current policy, who are not slip holders who shall then be deemed appointed to the Dock Committee. Said committee shall have jurisdiction with respect to any and all matters relating to the docks or slips. Any action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.
Entertainment Committee
The Entertainment Committee shall consist of not less than five (5) members who shall elect a chairperson from their membership. Said committee shall be in charge of and responsible for all social functions. Social functions deemed necessary or desirable including mediums of entertainment or education, such as movies, are to be planned as frequently as practical. Action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and shall be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting. The chairperson, subject to published standard operating procedures, shall approve purchases by the Entertainment Committee.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee shall consist of not less than four (4) Voting Members selected by the chairperson. The Treasurer shall act as chairperson and said committee shall be responsible for creating an annual and monthly budget for the next fiscal year. Any action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.
House Committee
The House Committee shall consist of not less than five (5) Voting Members selected by the chairperson. The Director and House Committee Chair shall act as chairperson and said committee shall have charge of and responsibility for purchasing all general operating supplies and merchandise, and a physical inventory system shall be maintained. Any matter not related to operating needs shall require a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.
Kitchen Committee
The Kitchen Committee was formed by the Board of Directors under the Special Committees section of the By-Laws. The Kitchen Committee is responsible for the operation of the Club kitchen, making sure that items for general use are ordered, and all around training of those using the kitchen.
Life Members
Life membership is granted to honor a long-term Club member’s contributions to the Club. The members selected have demonstrated their value to the Club through extraordinary effort for the good of the Club. Generally, those who have attained 65 years of age with 25 years as a member in good standing are considered.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee was formed by the Board of Directors under the Special Committees section of our By-Laws. The Committee is responsible for reviewing new Membership Applications, working to retain membership, and work towards recruiting new members.
Nominating Committee
The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to find people that are interested in serving as officers and directors of the Club and run the elections. This committee must consist of five (5) Voting Members in which none of them are currently serving on the Board of Directors.
Past Commodores
These individuals are the Past Commodores of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club that are currently still members. They have taken on the responsibility of keeping the ship afloat and making sure that the Club keeps moving in a forward direction. These individuals have taken the time and energy that it takes to run a business with 300 bosses and they know the challenge of trying to make them all happy. We thank them for their service to the Club and want them to know that their service to the Club is appreciated long after they are no longer actively serving on the Board of Directors.
Security & Internet Technology Committee
The Security and Internet Technology Committee shall be responsible for all surveillance video equipment and recorded access information. Passwords, access to hardware/software installation components, maintenance, troubleshooting and other concerns are limited to committee members.
Sunshine Committee
The Sunshine Committee is just what it says, to bring a little sunshine to members who need a lift in spirits to get back to normal life.
Travel Lift Committee
The Travel Lift Committee shall consist of not less than five (5) members. The Board of Directors will appoint a Chairperson that is a member of the Board of Directors. Said committee shall be responsible for maintaining equipment in safe operating condition, conducting boat lift and storage operations, and appointing lift operators. Fees and policies will be determined by the Board of Directors. Any action of this committee requires a majority vote of its members and must be ratified by the Board of Directors or mandated by a majority of the Voting Members of the Club present at any Regular or Special Meeting.
Youth Sailing Committee
The Youth Sailing Committee are members who are passionate to educate youth in boating safety and yachting skills. They manage the Youth Sailing program every summer while children learn learn these skills learning how to sail small sailboats.
